Jewish Disabilities Advocates

The Jewish Disabilities Advocates (JDA) program’s mission and purpose is to promote full participation and inclusion of people with disabilities who are of the Jewish faith into the Jewish community and the community at-large. The JDA staff and consultant work directly with Jewish communal agencies to undergo a full inclusion evaluation of current efforts, and to create and implement inclusion plans for programs and services that meet the needs of Jewish people with disabilities and their families.

A Jewish Disabilities Inclusion Committee, comprised of leadership from participating Jewish agencies and family members, was created to raise awareness and to share insights, ideas, and events promoting the inclusion efforts. Throughout the year, and especially in February during National Jewish Disabilities Awareness and Inclusion Month, participating synagogues and Jewish communal agencies promote inclusion of people with disabilities in all facets of Jewish life.
