This position will serve as an independent contractor providing dietary professional advice and training in the areas of nutritional health and food safety for the Jewish Family Service of Colorado Group Home (GH). Position is approximately 1-5 hours per quarter.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Completed all relevant coursework and trainings per the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Passed the national examination by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Experience:Must have experience and familiarity with different special diets.
  • Experience and familiarity with Kosher diet.
  • Experience and familiarity with dietary needs of disabled adults, preferred.
  • Experience and familiarity with state regulations on Group Home menus, preferred.

Requirements: Must complete continuing professional education requirements to maintain registration.


  • Review of the current Menu Protocol at the GH to ensure appropriate meal options and alternatives are being used for monthly menus that honor any special diets for its current residents.
  • Approve written menus through the Menu Protocol options.
  • Assist GH staff in following any and all state regulations mandating the writing of menus in a Group Home.
  • Write dietary protocols for special diets prescribed by licensed physicians.
  • Assist the GH staff in following all Kosher dietary regulations.
  • Educate GH staff or residents in areas of safe food handling, special dietary needs, or any other necessary dietary category.
  • Complete nutrition evaluations for new residents.
